The product
CheckMyMac is a macOS application for hardware diagnostics of MacBook computers, published by an independent developer. The free version can be downloaded and used without a license. Paid tiers are sold as a one-time purchase — no subscription.
Free version
The free tier requires no license, no account and no internet. You may download it, use it and pass the unmodified DMG along. The official download source is this website and its GitHub Releases page.
License
- Personal includes two Mac slots; more can be purchased from inside the app. Each slot is bound to a specific Mac permanently — re-checking a Mac that holds a slot is free. If you replace a Mac you own, contact support and we move its slot to the replacement.
- Service licenses a USB drive: the app runs from that drive on any Mac. One license per physical drive.
- Licenses are personal to the buyer and may not be resold or shared publicly.
Updates
Updates are delivered through the built-in updater and are included with your purchase.
Fair use of verdicts
The app reports the hardware state it can observe. Verdicts assist a human decision — buying, selling or repairing — and are not a certified guarantee of a machine's condition. Final judgement always stays with you.
Liability
The app reads hardware state and does not modify the machines it inspects. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for decisions made based on diagnostic results.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; their terms apply to the transaction. Refunds: see our refund policy.
